Terkel Skou Steffensen

The designer's main vision, 'design that is understandable for everyone', allows Terkel Skou Steffensen to create functional objects that can be quickly integrated into people's everyday life.

Terkel Skou Steffensen was born and raised in Aalborg, in the northern region of Denmark, where he also completed his bachelor's degree in architecture and design at Aalborg University. After graduating, he worked in Copenhagen for a few years and then decided to gain new experience in Lausanne. She received her master's degree in product design from Ecal University of Art and Design. He recently opened his new design studio, Terkel Skou Steffensen Industrial Design (TSSID).The designer tries to utilize the possibilities of the material as much as possible. For him, the quality of a product should be determined by its function, not the other way around. The expression does not necessarily have to be innovative. The designer likes to make subtle references to classic designs and reinterpret them from his own point of view. In the process of finding inspiration for new projects, Terkel Skou Steffensen enjoys talking to people who have no preconceptions about design. What do they want and what does it mean to them? They are often the ones who give the most honest answers to these questions.
